A Brief History

When I started visiting Second Life regularly I used the destination guide to find cool and different places to visit. The first place I visited from the guide, and really the first place I went in SL as a hole, was to The Brownstone Cafe in Effington Wood. No one was there, but the music was set to 181.fm's chill station (my favorite), and the scenery was great.

A week later I revisited Effington Wood, and made it a regular stop. A little over a month into my stay in Second Life i decided to find myself a place to live, and I knew from the first time i visited that I would like to find a place somewhere like Effington Wood. I looked around, but in the end I bought a parcel there, and have been living there ever since.

A month or so back, the Brownstone closed and the central hangout at Effington closed. When I saw the big empty space where the former cafe used to be I knew what I wanted to do. Truth be told, I had been thinking about using the land I have from my premium account to open something, so this was really a perfect opportunity for me. I spoke to the owners, worked out a deal and started working on a new hangout for Effington.

And now I have Cool Beans Coffee in Effington Wood. A small coffee house next to a wooded area and bordered by a wide promenade perfect for dancing, hanging out or just being silly.
